Stuck In The Bed

cc
cc
Tonight we heard Sam crying in his room. We went running back there and discovered that his leg was stuck in the side of his bed. We couldn’t get it out so Scott had to unscrew the bed. During this time, we asked Sam how he got his foot stuck in the crib. He replied, “I was acting crazy”. Once Scott removed the side of the bed, his leg immediately popped out. After that, he turned to me and said, “When daddy got my foot out I was so brave”. Yes Sam, you were so brave!

Halloween Party on Durness Way

This afternoon we had a Halloween party at our house. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance to take too many photos…but I love this one of Sam and his old classmates.

SLDS Parade

Sam enjoyed his first parade at SLDS. Scott, Ben & I watched from the hallway as the Spiderman costumes paraded by and loved it when our Spiderman shot his web our way.

Kick That Ball

cc

Sam had 2 goals at soccer on Saturday. He had a great time though he sometimes forgot that he’s not supposed to steal the ball from his own teammates. I guess that lesson comes later on down the road. Ben also wanted to get in on the action and even made his way (accidentally) onto the field a few times.

YMCA Carnival

cc
cc
We’re looking for any and all reasons to wear our Halloween costumes this year! Tonight we walked up to our neighborhood YMCA for a Halloween Carnival involving bounce houses, sport throws, pumpkin patches, candy & costume contests. What a great time!

The Biggest Pumpkin Ever!

Scott tried to talk Sam into a smaller pumpkin today at St. Luke’s pumpkin patch but it was useless. Sam wanted “the biggest pumpkin here” and ultimately that’s what we got. We can’t wait to carve it next week. I wonder who will choose the design!

Friends!

I love that Sam has true friends now. He’s been in class with these kiddos (Brady, Sean & Mackenzie) for 3 years & they can’t get enough of each other.

Here's a picture of the gang eating popsicles after lunch at Lupe Tortilla today.

Dewberry Farm

cc

This afternoon we made our way to Dewberry Farms outside of Houston. Ben loved watching the crowds, feeding the farm animals & eating snacks. Sam surprised us by riding the zip line over and over again & happily went from one activity to the next. We ran out of time to ride the tractors to the pumpkin patch (oops!) so we’ll make sure we do that first next year.

Dressing Up Is Fun To Do

cc
cc
Tonight we tried on Ben’s Halloween costume to make sure it fit. Of course, Sam had to join in on the fun.

The pumpkins were decorated by Sam during the UT game today. Scott & Sam were both sick and spent a majority of the day watching football, napping & decorating pumpkins together.

We love this time of year!

Take 2 at the Children's Museum

cc
cc
We had a very quick trip to the Children’s Museum this afternoon. Ben had extra fun as it was his first time to roam the “big kid exhibits” not strapped in to a stroller. The museum was empty so they had free reign of everything (very rare at the Houston CM). Sam loved playing in the ambulance and Ben loved imitating Sam’s every step/action.

Playdough Rocks

cc

Sam and I cooked some homemade playdough tonight for school. He helped me measure & pour all the ingredients into the pan and then said, “Now I’m going to supervise you…just like Daddy does”. Hilarious!

I Love My Teachers!

Ben loves his teachers, Ms. Marshall & Ms. Anderson. He was sick on Monday and carried their picture all over the house.

Kathy + Jim

The Sheehan’s throw a great party!

This morning we witnessed Kathy (Scott’s aunt) & Jim get married in The Sheehan’s house in Austin. There were a few tears, lots of laughter & an abundance of BBQ. We were sad that we had such a quick trip, but were thrilled & honored to watch two great people become unity in marriage.

Congrats Kathy & Jim!
