This time of year is a Sheehan favorite. The weather starts to get a little cooler, Friday night football begins but the biggest highlight is always the return of soccer season. This morning Ben had his first game with Team Cosmo. He was a little upset during pre-game because he didn't know anyone, but he rebounded like a champ with a few encouraging words. He ended up having a great time and scored 7-8 goals (we lost count). His smile and confidence grew with each goal. Sam was a proud brother and stood on the sidelines cheering and encouraging Ben every step of the way. It was a great start to a fun season.

Trip to Rosemary Beach
Instead of birthday parties this year, we decided to end the summer with a trip to Rosemary Beach to celebrate Ben, Graham & Grace's birthdays. It is our favorite place in the US to take our children on vacation. The kids had a great time and loved digging in the sand, riding the waves and spending a little family time with Uncle Jim and Greg. Such a fun trip!
August Fun
August was equally fun and jammed packed. We enjoyed a fun trip to Palestine where we caught up with many family members. Grace loved hanging out with Ralph (the cat) and Sam & Ben were thrilled to have a solo day trip with Paw Paw to the farm. They even caught and cooked our dinner of fish. YUM!
Our favorite day trip of the month included a great day at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. It was surprisingly cool that day and the kids enjoyed walking from garden to garden while feeding fish and skipping rocks. It was probably my favorite morning of the entire summer.
The best part for Grace came at the end of the month when she started dance. Every Tuesday she gets to put on her best tutu and enjoy a little ballet, tap and gymnastics. She seems so big with her hair all pulled up.
July Fun
Summer time was NUTS which gave me little time for blog posting (plus my big camera was shipped off for 6 weeks to get fixed). BUT I'm not giving up on the blog (the kids will love it one day) and I will try to post regularly from here on out.
July was a fun month. We traveled to Houston for a week to see old friends and met up with Grandma and Aunt D in Galveston for a few days. It was a great to spend a little time with those we miss so much on a daily basis. We enjoyed a wonderful 4th of July in downtown Southlake. It was the first time for Grace & Graham to see fireworks which was a magical experience. My Dad came a few times to help out with the kids (yay Dad)! The kids ran him ragged every time so it was nice to end each of those days with a popsicle (for the kids) and a Coors Light (for my Dad). The kids also traveled to Austin for a week where they enjoyed a little crazy time with Mimi & Pop. The only bummer of the month was that Sam broke his arm (again) during VBS. Poor guy.
