Ben + Christmas Celebration = Temper Tantrum

cc
cc
This pretty much sums up how Ben felt about Christmas this year. Our normally easy going child learned the art of throwing a temper tantrum about a week before the Christmas Holidays began. I can’t say it was Ben’s “best Christmas ever” so we’ll hope a little more Christmas cheer comes his way next year. We still love you Boo Bear!

To Infinity and Beyond!

Buzz Lightyear wings were the hit present of Christmas. Sam has only removed the wings to take a bath & rest. Other than that, they are on constantly!

Ben's First Haircut

cc

It’s hard to believe that Ben is old enough for his 1st haircut. I took both of the boys to Cool Cuts for Kids this morning and got their long locks trimmed. Ben did amazingly well and enjoyed “driving” the taxi while his “stylist” snipped away!

Gingerbread Fun

Grandma and I (I mean…Sam, Grandma & I) had a lot of fun decorating our gingerbread house & train. Sam started out strong but quickly lost interest. Nonetheless, they looked great in the kitchen for Christmas.

It's a Holly, Jolly Christmas!

We truly had the best Christmas! Our house was filled with laughter, good food, loved ones & lots of presents! Happy Holidays!

Let's Go, Red Sox!

cc
cc
Sam (and Coach Scott) started T-Ball this morning. Ben and I had so much fun observing eight 3-year-olds trying to hit the ball, remember where 1st base is & the best of all...trying to focused when it’s the other teams turn to hit. Go Red Sox!

Sam's Holiday Party

cc
cc
Sam had his Holiday party yesterday at SLDS. They ate pizza (not Sam, of course), sang songs, exchanged gifts with their teachers & made a picture frame craft. What a fun group of kids!

Party in the Bears Class!

Ben’s class at SLDS had their Holiday Party this afternoon. They were so cute sitting in their little chairs, eating cookies & wearing reindeer antlers. What a great group of kids!

Christmas Sing Along at SLDS

cc
cc
The boys had a Christmas Sing Along this morning at St. Luke’s. They sat with their classes, rang jingle bells and sang the songs very loudly (at least Sam did). What fun!

Snow Day!

cc
cc
Sam had high hopes of building snowmen and having snowball fights this morning when it started snowing. Unfortunately, it never got cold enough to stick. But we still had fun playing in the snow/ice for as long as our warm Texas bodies would allow us.

Pumpkin Patch Cuties

I know it's hard to think about pumpkins in December, but we just got back the pumpkin patch pictures taken at school. I can't help but smile looking at those adorable boys with their pumpkins!

The Baby Squat

I’m adding the “baby squat” to my list of life’s many mysteries. How on earth do children squat like this all day?

Christmas Gestures from the Heart

cc
cc
In my opinion, there's nothing better than an ornament from the heart. Thank you to all those that have provided very beautiful, store bought and handmade, ornaments for our tree over the years. We LOVE them!

I LOVE our house decorated for the Holidays. I wish it could stay like this all year long!

The Power of a Stuffed Elf

cc
cc
Sam’s elf, Car, came to visit a few days ago. He’s from the famous Elf on a Shelf book. This is our 1st year to welcome him into our household. Car has magical powers and watches over Sam each day to see if he’s been naughty or nice. You cannot touch him and he cannot talk back or else his magical powers will be gone. Each night as Sam sleeps, Car travels back to the North Pole and tells Santa if Sam has been naughty or nice.

Are you buying it? Sam sure is! WE LOVE OUR ELF!

Grumpy Ben

cc
cc
Sometimes you can’t recover from quality time spent on Santa’s lap so you spend the rest of the day grumpy and crying. That was Ben’s reality yesterday afternoon. After naps, we went to St. Luke’s for the Book Fair and to get pictures made with Santa. Sam went straight up to Santa and “shyly” told him what he wanted the elves to make him. Ben liked Santa from a distance but freaked out the second I placed him on this strange man’s lap and walked away. Sam took one look at Ben and turned towards the camera and flashed his million dollar smile. That’s pretty much how the rest of the afternoon went. And I wonder why Scott had to work late???
