Ben has joined the Southlake Lacrosse insanity. Sam was excited to have his brother come along to their first practice last night. Ben is the youngest one out there so he was (naturally) a little overwhelmed. But he says he wants to go back & I look forward to watching all my lacrosse boys on the field soon!

A fun week for Grace & Graham
It was a fun week for Grace and Graham. First, they had pajama day at school. They took the new sleeping bags Mimi and Pop gave them for Christmas, pillow, flashlights, lovies, you name it! They spent the entire day doing scavenger hunts, drinking hot chocolate and just have a blast with their classmates.
On Friday, we had a first ever combo playdate for the twins. I let them each choose a buddy and Grace chose Olivia (best bud for 2 year now) and Graham chose Colin (he's in Graham's class this year, the 3rd child and will attend Rockenbaugh next year as well). Having the 4 of them at my house was hilarious & way easier than I anticipated. The girls spent the entire time fixing each others hair, playing house & school and doing a ridiculous amount of artwork. Graham and Colin were the opposite of the girls' calmness. They ran from playing soccer, to racing remote control cars, to wrestling, to building huge car creations. Their personalities are so similar it's scary.
What a great week for the twins!
Homework Time x 4
Homework time has changed at our house. Grace and Graham have joined the nightly tradition as we start to get them ready for kindergarten in August (fingers crossed). They practice a few letters & numbers each night. Ben has become quite a proficient reader this year and keeps moving up to harder and harder books. Sam's homework time continues to grow. Reading, math, spelling words & studying for an end of the week geography test happen every night. It's fun to see them all lined up around the table studying.
Car Time
We are always in the car these days (and typically have a few extra friends with us) heading to one activity or another. Car time is one of my favorite times during the week because the kids have hilarious conversations & dance to music from the DJ of the hour.

Sam is NINE!
It's hard to believe that Sam is nine! It feels like yesterday that we were waiting on pins & needles for his arrival in NC. He has turned into such a great big brother and is always the first to pitch in and help us with projects and chores around the house. He still loves soccer and ALL sports (he played flag football, lacrosse and soccer this year) and is excited to learn how to ride his new ripstick. He never backs down from a challenge. He is respectful, a great student and is a wonderful role model for his siblings.
It was a cold & rainy day on his actual birthday, but we made the most of it by having his best bud, William, over for a sleepover. We started the day with donuts, the boys enjoyed a few rounds of basketball in between rain showers & we ended the day with Sam's futsal game, milkshakes at Kinkaids and a home movie (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). It was a great day.
Rah rah, TCU!
The kids were so excited to put on their TCU best to cheer on the team in the Peach Bowl. Grace even requested purple nails. It was a great game and an even better win over Ole Miss!
Hot chocolate with the Fever Soccer Team
Sam wanted to bring a special treat to celebrate his birthday with his Fever soccer team. Since it was 34 degrees (not taking into account the wind chill) at the end of practice, we thought homemade hot chocolate and cookies would be a great treat. I've never made that amount of hot chocolate from scratch, but it was well worth the stress over how it would turn out. The boys loved it.
