Happy 65th Birthday, Dad!

Ahoy Matey!

Eventually they will learn that leaning up against a cardboard is not a good idea.

Halloween Parade at Rockenbaugh Elementary

Halloween Festival

Last Sunday, we went to the Bob Jones Nature Center, in Southlake, for a Halloween Festival.  We had never been there so we were blown away by the surroundings.  It was very pretty and very kid friendly.  The kids loved the horses, petting zoo, turtles and dinosaur fossils.  Such a fun event!

Soccer Saturdays have returned!

After a few weeks hiatus, Soccer Saturdays have returned.  Each of the boys had great games with 2 goals each.  Thanks to Mimi & Pop for coming out to cheer on the kids!

Mimi & Pop are here

I just love this photo.  The kids always have so much to tell the grandparents when they come to visit.  And being the good grandparents that they are, they always listen so intensely.

She's BBAAAAAACK!

Guess who has returned to our insane household?  Sadie!  The kids were so excited though Sadie is probably a little depressed.

Bye, bye cast!

Sam's cast was taken off on Monday and we were all thrilled.  Of course, Sam was the most excited one of the bunch.

I am so blessed!

Do you ever have one of those weekends that just rejuvenates your life?  I had one of those this past weekend.  I feel like for the past 2+ years Scott and I have been BUSY!  And being busy rarely involves hanging out, chatting and just being together.  In honor of Scott's birthday and our 12th wedding anniversary, Scott and I headed out to Glen Rose, Texas for some R&R.  Honestly, it was the best weekend that I can remember in the longest time.  We ate, we drank, we did activities that I never in a million years thought I would do (shooting clays, zip lining)...but mostly we just hung out.  At one point Scott sweetly asked (in a concerned voice) if I was bored.  I had to laugh out loud.  Because...YES, I was bored...terribly bored...and it was AMAZING!!!!  Thank you, Scott, for planning such a perfect weekend.  And thank you, Mom & Dad, for giving Scott and I some much needed alone time.  It's been 12+ amazing years!!

Happy Birthday, Scott!

For the most part, the kids planned Scott's entire birthday celebration.  They "needed" a banner and decorations so he would be "so happy" when he walked in from work.

They decorated bags and placed their handmade gifts inside.

They made Scott a book that included personalized artwork.

They hid so they could yell out, "Surprise" when he walked in from work.

After opening the kids' handmade gifts, we had brownies and ice cream to celebrate the best Dad in the whole wide world!  Yep...that's 36 lit candles.  The kids thought it was so cool.

Happy Birthday, Scott!  I hope you enjoyed your child planned party.  xoxo
