A few weekends back, we met in Palestine again to ride the Polar Express. The train ride to meet Santa involved lots and lots of dancing, singing, cookies & hot chocolate and (best of all) lots of snuggling to keep warm. I think we might have been the biggest party (14 of us) on the train. Ho ho ho!

Grace's Dance Showcase
Grace had a mini Christmas show at dance before the holidays. She was a little distracted with Graham and I watching, but she definitely made us proud. Our little dancing queen!
ICE in Texas
For five crazy days, the streets of Southlake (and much of DFW) were covered in ice. The kids sled down the hills in our neighborhood on boogie boards (yes...for the ocean), threw ice balls at each other and learned hockey from a few neighborhood members of the Dragon Hockey team. It was cold but the kids loved every minute!
THE Haircut
Thanksgiving Day will also be known as the day Grace cut herself an 80's one sided bob. She was very proud until she saw how upset the haircut made her parents. It's only hair but it's still amazing how much emotion can be poured out over a missing side of hair. Hopefully (knock on lots of wood), she learned her lesson.
Thanksgiving in Palestine
Thanksgiving in Palestine is always a great and rowdy time. This year, my cousin hosted everyone at her house. All of the cousins (and second cousins) just love being together. And it was extra great to bust my grandmother out of rehab to spend the day with us. Days like this just warm my heart. We're counting the days until the next get together!
Bounce House Slide Fun
During Thanksgiving Break when the weather was cold, the kids and I would hop in the car and head to the nearest bounce house for the morning. This was our favorite find. Tons of indoor playscape space, bounce houses and the best ceiling high slide. Such fun!

Fever Soccer
Rah Rah, TCU!
We have been lucky enough to enjoy a few TCU games this season. Rain, shine, win or lose we LOVE our Frogs!
Halloween
Halloween is always such a fun time with young children. The kids thought long and hard about their costumes this year (Graham had a last minute change of heart). They ended up as a football player, Storm Trooper, Power Ranger and Princess Sophia.
The kids had so much fun going house to house asking for candy. We made it through most of our neighborhood before Grace and Graham begged Scott to go home and get the wagon (they were exhausted and could walk no longer but didn't want to head home). Happy Halloween!
Pumpkin Overload
Scott and I took the kids to a pumpkin patch and corn maze a few days before Halloween. The corn maze was quite an experience as Graham wasn't so fond of "being lost" but they all rallied over popcorn, tractors, baby pigs and lots of pumpkins.
One afternoon after school, the kids and I carved their chosen pumpkins. I thought I might get away with simple pumpkin faces but they had different plans. About an hour later, we had a pumpkins with a pumpkin face and a Power Ranger sword (Ben), dump truck (Graham), princess crown (Grace) and crazy pumpkin face (Sam) carved into them.
Biking through the neighborhood
The best part of the cooler weather is the ability to bike ride through the neighborhood without breaking a sweat. Grace always steals Ben's bike along the way (look how proud she is in mimicking Sam's stance) and Graham always ends of hopping on the back of the little bike that Ben ends up riding. Happy days!
NAPA!
Scott and I were lucky enough to celebrate our 13th (!!!) anniversary in Napa Valley. We enjoyed taking naps in the middle of the day, cruising mountain sides, long runs through Sonoma and drinking lots and lots of wine. We missed our kiddos but it was amazing to reconnect as a couple. I love you, Scott!

Ben's Soccer Season is Kicked Off - Team Cosmo
This time of year is a Sheehan favorite. The weather starts to get a little cooler, Friday night football begins but the biggest highlight is always the return of soccer season. This morning Ben had his first game with Team Cosmo. He was a little upset during pre-game because he didn't know anyone, but he rebounded like a champ with a few encouraging words. He ended up having a great time and scored 7-8 goals (we lost count). His smile and confidence grew with each goal. Sam was a proud brother and stood on the sidelines cheering and encouraging Ben every step of the way. It was a great start to a fun season.
Trip to Rosemary Beach
Instead of birthday parties this year, we decided to end the summer with a trip to Rosemary Beach to celebrate Ben, Graham & Grace's birthdays. It is our favorite place in the US to take our children on vacation. The kids had a great time and loved digging in the sand, riding the waves and spending a little family time with Uncle Jim and Greg. Such a fun trip!
