11+ Weeks of Isolating & Homeschooling

It is hard to believe that we have been home for 11+ weeks. For weeks, we didn't see anyone but our neighbors as they went on their family walks to get fresh air. As we start to emerge from our homes, I want to remember all the craziness that happened during the Pandemic (Covid-19) of 2020.

1.) Homeschooling 4 children (well, really only the twins) ... Grace > Grades
2.) Doing telemedicine for the 1st time ... quickly realizing how much you miss/need seeing doctors/PT face-to-face
3.) Scott on PE duty (running, burpees, weights & jump roping)
4.) Return of lego building, board games and an 80s way of life
5.) Bike riding through Southlake and discovering so many places we didn't realize existed in our town
6.) Daily drives just to kill time...that usually ended with a treat from Sonic (a Sonic that we never visited in Southlake before Covid-19)
7.) Cooking and cooking and more cooking at home
8.) Meeting grandparents on the side of a highway (Buc-ees & Chuys) just to see their face in person
9.) Lots and lots of video games (fortnite...NBA2k) & Office re-runs ... really missing live sports but enjoying things like The Last Dance (Michael Jordan documentary) and The Match (Tiger, Phil, Brady & Manning golf match) together as a family in REAL time
10.) ZOOM calls with family, teachers, happy hours with friends
11.) Birthday parades since celebrating in person isn't possible
12.) 6 feet away happy hours outside with neighbors
13.) Date night walks because nothing is open
14.) Bedtime is summer bedtime which means it changes daily
15.) Blue angel flyover so they could say thank you to all the front line workers (amazing)
16.) Daily PT by Sam...so much PT
17.) Front porch treat drop offs by the most amazing 3rd Grade teachers ever
18.) Bailey happier than ever (she loves all this time together with her tribe)
19.) Daily chore bucket (because these kids can make a huge mess being home 24/7)
20.) Realizing that even though we miss our friends and family and "old normal" so, so much...that we are lucky to have this slowed down time in our children's life
